ULTIMA® SV

In 1980 Hayssen® introduced the Ultima® SV - a major breakthrough in vertical form/fill/seal packaging machinery providing superior speed, performance, packaging appearance, and efficiency, while greatly reducing film waste. Since then, Ultima®, with its revolutionary measure, form, pull packaging material handling concept, has become the most successful v/f/f/s machine ever built. Here's why ...

  • Allen-Bradley 5/04 PLC
    The Ultima® SV features an off-the-shelf Allen-Bradley 5/04 control system with an Allen-Bradley Panelview 1000 touch-screen operator interface. The controller, capable of storing programs for up to 30 different bag sizes, also provides temperature control of sealing system heat zones. An additional zone is available for a hot-leaf imprinter.

  • Servo-Driven Measuring Roller
    A servo-driven motor, identical and interchangeable with the drive belts servo motor, now controls the measuring roller assembly as well. The motor is mounted just under the measuring roller and controls it with a timing belt. A moveable mounting plate makes belt tension adjustment quick and easy. And, the roller itself now features larger, extended rate bearings.

  • Positive Film Control
    Material is pulled through with more positive control with little stress at the forming shoulder. Since the Measure, Form, Pull principle provides more dwell time, there's more time to make better looking end seals and increase packaging speeds.

  • Heavy Duty Jaw Assembly
    The jaw assembly features a rugged jaw close actuator. The heavy duty casting houses a cushion for shock and noise abatement. The shafts are oversized and supported at the front of the frame for additional ruggedness.

  • Superior Film Registration
    A fiber-optic link in the film registration system allows the electric eye controls to be placed at the front of the machine. An operator can easily see the controls and adjust the eye during operation. And, registration can be achieved in less than one bag length.

  • Unsurpassed Sealing Systems
    Whether you choose a resistance sealing system, a polyethylene sealing system, or a combination system, Ultima® sealing systems offer ...

          *  better seals
          *  repeatable performance
          *  higher production speeds
          *  less maintenance

    Hayssen's® resistance sealing systems employ steel/Hastelloy die faces for longer life. Ultima's® longer dwell time allows for superior package sealing at speeds up to 130 bags per minute.

    Hayssen's® Quali-Seal® polyethylene sealing system also takes advantage of Ultima's longer dwell time to provide stronger seals. Constant heat is applied from both the front and rear jaws, allowing reduced sealing temperatures with no chillers, cut-off wires, or complicated set-up procedures.

Safety

  • ANSI Standards
    All Hayssen® form/fill/seal machines conform to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) safety standard B155.1 1994 for construction of packaging and related converting machinery. USDA approved machinery is also available.

Options

  • Filling Systems
          *  microcomputer combination weighers
          *  volumetric fillers
          *  auger fillers
          *  other fillers, such as pumps and counters

  • Reverse Stripping
    Simple, effective, and near maintenance-free product stripping is available with the addition of Hayssen's® exclusive "reverse stripping" feature. Consisting of just two plates, four bolts, and software to control the reversing of the measuring roller and pull belt servo motors, this feature can accommodate speeds up to 90 bags per minute and stripping action from 1 to 100 mm of bag length. With this option, shorter bags may be possible as product stacking is minimized.

  • MAP/CAP Capability
    The dwell time advantage from the Ultima® SV's measure, form, pull principle allows more time for gas flushing and provides strong hermetic seals for modified or controlled atmosphere applications.

  • Other Optional Features
    Flat bottom bag capability, inline zipper capability, bag support/eject devices, splice assist devices, static eliminators, discharge chutes/counters, hole punches, tear notches, code daters, simulated header labels, rust resistant construction, stainless steel construction, and other specialized optional accessories are available.
